What is BPH?
BPH is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, common in older men. As the prostate grows, it can block the flow of urine, causing symptoms or complications.
Symptoms
- Difficulty starting urination
- Weak or interrupted urine stream
- Frequent urination, especially at night
- Incomplete bladder emptying
Diagnosis
- Rectal examination
- Urine test
- PSA blood test
- Uroflowmetry
Treatment Options
- Medications to relax or shrink the prostate
